Automated Plasma Transferred Arc (PTA) surface coatings are a versatile solution for enhancing component durability across various applications and environments. This thermal process applies wear and corrosion-resistant deposits to metallic surfaces using finely powdered coating products, melted through a plasma arc and transferred to the component. These coatings can be tailored to suit specific wear, abrasion, and parent metal compositions, effectively increasing hardness, galling resistance, and corrosion resistance. Our fully automated application system, capable of manipulating components up to 500Kg, collaborates with clients to customize coating patterns, reducing downtime, manual handling, and labour while improving quality, consistency, and productivity.

Key advantages of this process:

  • Thinner overlay applications due to finely grained, high-concentration powders.
  • Reduced arc energy and heat, minimizing heat-affected zones and dilution into the parent metal.
  • Automation support for quality, consistency, and productivity, leading to less equipment downtime and manual handling.
